Connection troubleshooting
“This app is blocked” or “Access blocked: admin policy” from Google
Your Google Workspace administrator controls which third-party apps can access Google data. Ask them to allow GChat Bridge under Admin console → Security → Access and data control → API controls → App access control. If restricted Chat scopes are limited for your organization, reading messages may be blocked while other features still work.
“Google Chat API … not available” or personal Gmail accounts
Google Chat APIs are available for Google Workspace accounts with Google Chat enabled. Personal @gmail.com accounts are not supported by Google for this use.
A tool says a permission is missing
Open Permissions and grant the listed permission. On Google's consent screen make sure the matching checkbox is ticked.
A tool says to reconnect
Google authorizations can expire (for example after a password or security policy change, or six months without use). Open your dashboard and choose Reconnect.
My AI app cannot connect
- Check the server address on the setup page is copied exactly.
- Complete sign-in in the browser window your app opens; pop-up blockers can hide it.
- Remove the connector in your AI app and add it again to restart authorization.
A message was not sent
Every send requires approval on this site within 15 minutes. Check pending requests and activity. Ask your assistant to prepare it again if it expired.
Search did not find a message
Google's search does not cover private messages, messages posted by apps, or spaces you muted. Ask your assistant to read the specific space instead.
